The port of Odesa will scrap two port cranes

The Odesa Commercial Sea Port intends to scrap two portal cranes Albrecht SU with a total weight of 360 tons.
The equipment has been leased by Diabl Firm LTD since 2003, according to GMK Center. In 2021, an examination was carried out at the port, which showed that further operation of the units was impossible due to the unsuitability of the metal structures.
As a result, the cranes will be scrapped. Due to this, the Odesa port intends to receive an additional UAH 2.7 million (USD 101.04 thousand).
The Albrecht crane was designed and manufactured by the German company Kranbau Eberswalde. It is a gantry transhipping crane with a rigid guy-line and the ability to fully rotate around its axis. The machine is designed for handling break bulk, loose and bulk cargoes using various load-handling equipment – grabs, hooks, magnets.
