The ports of the Mykolaiv Region are not yet planned to be demined
Vitaliy Kim, the head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, said that there are currently no plans to start demining the ports in Mykolaiv Region.
Kim noted this on the air of the national telethon “Edyni Novyny” on July 30.
“We are not planning to start demining the ports now, although this issue is important and we are working on it. The regional military administration and the Naval Forces discussed this problem, and decided what tools are needed to demine the water areas. But this issue is not the right time now,” said Kim.
He noted that currently Mykolaiv Region is not included in the Grain Agreement. In addition, the enemy is located on the Kinburn spit 4 km from the city of Ochakiv. That is why the Ochakivska and Kutsurubska communities are shelled almost every day. So, in Kim’s opinion, it is inappropriate to take up this matter now.
The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration also emphasized that now the Russians are not targeting Mykolaiv ports – they are simply firing missiles at peaceful neighborhoods where there are no industrial or military facilities.
