The Russian Federation again blocked the registration and inspection of ships in the Bosphorus
Once again, the Russian side effectively stopped the “Grain Agreement” by blocking the registration and inspections of the incoming fleet.
“The Russian Federation once again effectively stopped the “Grain Initiative” by refusing to register ships for entry and conduct their inspections. Such an approach is completely contrary to the terms of the current Agreement,” the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reports.
Such actions of the Russian side make it impossible to draw up an inspection plan in accordance with the procedures of the JCC, which provide for daily approval by all parties of the inspection plan for both exit and entry.
As of today, 90 vessels are awaiting inspection in Turkish territorial waters, of which 62 are vessels that are being loaded. Inspections of both the incoming and outgoing fleet are suspended.
In April, the export of Ukrainian agricultural products through the “grain corridor” did not reach 3 million tons.
“Ukraine categorically does not accept Russia’s efforts to stop the registration and inspection of the incoming fleet, which should take place in view of the working Initiative. We are waiting for the position of our partners, the UN and Turkey,” the MIU emphasized.
As previously reported by USM, Russia may block the “grain corridor” after May 18.
