The russians want to make the port of Mariupol a logistics hub for exporting looted grain

The invaders plan to turn the Mariupol port into a logistics hub for the export of grain from the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Currently, the russians are rebuilding the port of Mariupol and demolishing the railway station.

Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, told about this on the air of the national telethon. He added that in Mariupol, the pace of dismantling destroyed buildings has slowed down.

According to Andryushchenko, the occupiers plan to build a large railway hub in Mariupol – for this they will dismantle the railway station and nearby buildings. The same situation is observed with the Mariupol port: it is planned to turn it into a military logistics base, which, together with the railway, will work for the export of looted Ukrainian grain.

“If they succeed in implementing their plans, they will be able to use it to export grain from the occupied territories of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia, because the Mariupol port is the largest on the coast of the Sea of Azov. We believe that these plans will be thwarted by the Ukrainian counteroffensive, but, unfortunately, they will still manage to dismantle part of the private houses near the station,” Andryushchenko noted.
