The sailors of the cruiser “Moskva” were declared dead
In Sevastopol, the court recognized as dead 17 sailors who served on the cruiser “Moskva”, which sank in April.
Court hearings were held in summer and autumn based on the statements of parents of servicemen who were considered missing. The interests of the parents were represented in court by the military prosecutor’s office and the command of the military unit, Krym.Realii reports.
By the end of August, only three sailors from the cruiser were officially recognized as dead.
After the destruction of the cruiser in April, the Ministry of Defense of russian federation stated that the crew had been completely evacuated. Later, the agency reported 27 missing sailors. Relatives of servicemen claimed at least 40 dead. The exact number of sailors killed on the “Moskva” is still unknown.
The flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of russian federation, the guard missile cruiser “Moskva” sank while being towed to the port. The death of the cruiser occurred after a large-scale fire as a result of an April 13 strike by Ukrainian missiles.
