The seamen appealed to the Ministry of Defence about going abroad
On October 10, sailors gathered in Odesa to appeal to the Ministry of Defense regarding the ban on traveling abroad to work on vessels.
Despite the adopted law, which allows departure, seamen still cannot cross the border, reports “Suspilny”.
On September 2, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution according to which Ukrainian sailors will be able to temporarily cross the border for work. But the recruitment centers have not yet received an order from the Ministry of Defense regarding the procedure for issuing permit documents to Ukrainian sailors. That’s why the sailors decided to contact the department, media reports.
The sailors said that they still have not received permission to leave. In response to the appeal, the Ministry of Defense offers to call the General Staff, and the General Staff to call the “hotline”.
As for the end of September, 6 200 mariners were waiting for permission to leave. The process of crossing the state border is connected, in particular, with the lack of approved procedures and methods of issuing documents for seafarers.
