The construction of the second Ada-type corvette for the Navy of Ukraine has already started in Turkey. The ship will be named after the Ukrainian hetman.
The second corvette Ada of the Navy will be named “Hetman Pavlo Skoropadskyi”. Captain 2nd rank Volodymyr Uglinskyi told about this in a documentary film about the Navy of Ukraine.
Uglinsky specified that all subsequent ships of this type for the Navy plan to be named after Ukrainian hetmans.
In March, metal was cut for the second Ada-type corvette. After that, the formation of separate sections of the ship began, which were then combined into a hull.
It is known that the second corvette will receive a different propulsion system and vertical launchers of the MICA VL air defense system. There is currently no information about the armament of the corvette.
USM previously reported that the flagship of the Ukrainian Navy, the “Hetman Ivan Mazepa” corvette, should enter the fleet next year.
The ship will be equipped with 76- and 205-mm artillery systems, cruise missiles, an anti-aircraft missile system with a range of more than 20 km, as well as electronic warfare equipment.
