The second UDS ship is being prepared for modernization in Austria
Preparations for the modernization of the second vessel of “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” have begun – the ship has already arrived at the shipyard in the city of Linz, Austria.
This was reported by the press service of the UDS, publishing the corresponding video.
“A unique caravan of three ships of the “Kapitan Antypov” series has arrived in Linz. Preparations for the modernization of the first of the three ships have started. The old equipment is being dismantled,” the company said.
The UDP also reminded that the first vessel, Kapitan Antypov, has almost completed its modernization — the installation of additional equipment is currently being completed, and the new engines have already been installed.
“It was planned that already this year, international donors will contribute to the financing of the project. All necessary conditions within the competence of the enterprise are fulfilled according to the schedule. But a slip-up with the UDS supervisory board is delaying the decision-making process on foreign investment. It is important to speed up the formation of the supervisory board,” the UDS summarized.
Earlier, the UDS already reported that Ukraine risks disrupting the modernization financing program.
