The Security Council of Turkey calls for the extension of the Grain Agreement
Turkey’s National Security Council calls for an end to the war and the resumption of the “grain corridor”.
Escalation of tension in the Black Sea does not meet the interests of any of the parties, while returning to the Grain Agreement will contribute to food stability, the country’s Security Council noted .
“Escalation of tension in the Black Sea will not be in anyone’s interests. All parties were called to sit down at the negotiating table and stop the war without delay,” the statement said.
USM previously reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara is negotiating with the parties to renew the Black Sea Grain Agreement.
The Turkish leader noted that “the solution to this problem depends on the Western countries fulfilling their promises”, without clarifying what exactly the promises are.
