The states will continue to facilitate deliveries of Ukrainian grain, says the US Ambassador in Ukraine
The United States will continue to provide the necessary assistance in transporting Ukrainian grain to world markets as part of the grain initiative.
“Continuing the Black Sea Grain Initiative will help lower prices and ensure that much-needed Ukrainian food will be able to feed the world. We will continue to provide assistance in the delivery of Ukrainian grain to world markets, especially to countries with an acute problem of food security,” US Ambassador in Ukraine Bridget Brink wrote on Twitter.
It will be recalled that on November 17 in Istanbul, the UN and Turkey agreed to extend the grain initiative for another 120 days. Since the beginning of the project, Ukraine has exported more than 11 million tons of products to 38 countries through the “grain corridor”.
Also, on November 15, under the auspices of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Grain From Ukraine humanitarian program, which will be implemented in partnership with the World Food Program, began work.
Grain From Ukraine envisages sending up to 10 ships with Ukrainian grain every month. With the implementation of the Program, more than 5 million people can be saved from hunger by the end of spring 2023.
