The supplier of bunker fuel Peninsula Petroleum broke their ties with the Russian Federation
Bunker fuel supplier Peninsula Petroleum Limited became the first to be removed from the list of international sponsors of the war.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption excluded the first company from the list of international sponsors of the war — the world’s leading Peninsula Petroleum Limited, which specializes in the supply of marine fuel, he National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption reported.
The list of international war sponsors was created as a powerful reputational pressure tool on companies that continue to work with the Russian Federation after a full-scale invasion. The first company was excluded from the list, because it fulfilled all the necessary conditions.
The company has sent a corresponding letter to the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption indicating the fulfilled conditions that allow it to be excluded from the list.
Peninsula Petroleum Limited stopped supplying bunker fuel not only to ships owned by Russians or flying the flag of the Russian Federation, but also to those carrying Russian oil. The company took such steps as a sign of condemnation of Russian aggression.
the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption stated that the agency is open to cooperation with international business and is ready to hold consultations on the steps necessary for delisting.
It will be recalled that Ukraine added the Irish bunker fuel supplier Peninsula Petroleum Limited to the list of sponsors of the war in April 2023. At that time, the company continued to receive excess profits and deliver fuel for ships that transport Russian oil.
Peninsula Petroleum operates as a global supplier of bunker fuel, making over 25,000 deliveries per year and offering fuel resale services, technical expertise, fleet management and yachting services.
