The terminal concession project at the port of Chornomorsk is in the final stage, — the director

Currently, the concession of terminals in the port of Chornomorsk is in the final stage of preparation.

Vyacheslav Bezruk, director of the State Enterprise “MTP “Chornomorsk”, told Ukrinform in an interview.

“I understand the idea of ​​a concession as a mechanism that allows modernizing terminals, updating the technical base, increasing the port’s throughput capacity and improving the level of service,” he commented.

At the same time, according to Bezruk, it is extremely important to maintain strategic state control over key assets, ensure transparency of the concessionaire selection procedure, as well as compliance with social guarantees for employees.

Bezruk noted that the concession project for the First and Container Terminals is in the final stage of preparation. The property objects that are planned to be transferred to the concession were studied with the participation of international partners. Based on the feasibility study, a positive conclusion was given on the feasibility of implementing the project.

The director also commented on the role of trade unions in the process: “We must be sure that jobs will be preserved, the terms of the collective agreement will be fulfilled, and employees will receive proper social protection.” Earlier, USM reported that Ukraine presented the Chornomorsk port concession project in Warsaw.
