The terrorist country accepted a new submarine into the Navy

A submarine, which has been built for 18 years, entered service with the Northern Fleet of Russia.

The Russians accepted the submarine “Kronstadt” project 677 (Lada) as part of the Northern Fleet. The flag-raising ceremony took place at the Admiralty Shipyard in St. Petersburg, Gospodarka Morska reports.

Construction of the submarine began back in 2005. In total, the construction took 18 years. It is reported that the delays are caused by shipyard problems and the state of the armaments budget.

The Russians claim that the “new” submarine has a significantly increased detection range and a very low noise level.

The ship is 72 meters long and has a displacement of 2,700 tons. It develops a speed of up to 21 knots on the surface and 10 under water. The crew consists of 35 people. The submarine’s armament includes six 533 mm torpedo tubes, 16 torpedoes or 44 sea mines, 10 Kalibr cruise missiles, a light machine gun and anti-ship missiles.

Due to economic problems and defeats in the Black Sea, it is difficult for the Russian authorities to maintain the position of a “sea superpower”. The Russian fleet lags behind the American and Chinese fleets, and if you look at individual units in the Baltic region or the Pacific Ocean, it is inferior to the overall strength of European countries.

However, as experts emphasize, although Russia has its own problems, they should not be underestimated because of the threats and goals that the terrorist country sets for itself. Therefore, European countries are closely monitoring the activities of the Russian Navy and the work of shipyards on the creation of new ships.
