The UDS will form a supervisory board

A supervisory board will be formed in PJSC “Ukrainian Danube Shipping”. For this, the company was included in the list of particularly important for the economy.

The government has included the UDS in the list of entities of the public sector that are particularly important for the economy, informed the permanent representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk.

This is a list of companies of the state sector of the economy, in the authorized capital of which more than 50% of the shares (parts) belong to the state. Managers and members of supervisory boards at such enterprises are elected with the participation of the committee for the appointment of managers of enterprises that are particularly important for the economy.

Also, the Cabinet of Ministers made changes to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 31.05.2022 N 643 “Some issues of management of state-owned objects during the period of martial law”. This will provide an opportunity to form the supervisory board of PrJSC “UDS” through a transparent competition, ensure the appropriate level of its independence and comply with the principles of corporate governance of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. This, in turn, will allow to continue cooperation with the International Finance Corporation and to attract credit resources and private financing necessary for the society to renew the fleet.

We will remind you that the hull of the motor ship “Captain Antipov” was repaired at the Kilia Shipbuilding and Repair Plant.

As previously reported by USM, in December 2023, the UDS together with ÖSWAG partners completed the development of a project to modernize self-propelled vessels of the “Captain Antipov” type.
