The Ukrainian commanding officer of a Navy ship let his subordinates ashore for bribes
The State Bureau of Investigation exposed one of the ship commanding officers of the Naval Forces of Ukraine.
The commander demanded a bribe from his subordinates for time off on shore. He was informed about the suspicion, the SBI informed.
Yes, the subordinates had to pay the commander UAH 10,000 in order to leave the ship on a legal day off. Previously, the suspect earned at least UAH 150,000 per month on leave of military sailors.
The commander was detained on July 9, while receiving another bribe in the amount of $1,000. He received this amount from a sailor in exchange for his right to go ashore on weekends for a month.
The figure was informed about the suspicion of receiving an illegal benefit by an official (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
So far, the commander has been remanded in custody with the possibility of a bail of UAH 182,000 .
