The Ukrainian Navy is ready to give an adequate response to Russia’s violation of the ceasefire at sea

In the event of a violation of the ceasefire in the Black Sea by the Russian Federation, Ukraine will take appropriate measures.
Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy Dmytro Pletenchuk said that in the event of a violation of the ceasefire in the Black Sea by Moscow, Ukraine will give an adequate response. This is reported by Ukrinform.
According to Pletenchuk, this issue was discussed at the highest level. Thus, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov emphasized that Russia has no right to leave the eastern part of the Black Sea, where it has a formal legal right to be.
“According to the vision of the country’s top leadership, a ceasefire in the Black Sea involves, in particular, the cessation of shelling of port infrastructure,” Pletenchuk emphasized.
Such actions relate, first of all, to security, in particular, the preservation of the functioning of the “grain corridor” and ensuring export opportunities. However, according to international agreements, this does not apply to military facilities, in particular ships.
At the same time, the spokesman noted that the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with Ukraine’s partners, are monitoring the situation in the Black Sea and monitoring the situation.
“In fact, it is not so difficult, the main thing is to have a political decision. Technically, this is being carried out together with our partners,” Pletenchuk emphasized.
He added that it is still difficult to analyze the situation, since it is necessary to wait for the final version of the document, which will specify all the conditions and control mechanisms.
Recently, the USM reported that the agreement on silence at sea should apply not only to ports, but also to cities where there is the appropriate infrastructure. First of all, we are talking about Odesa and Mykolaiv.
