The Ukrainian Project Institute helped Russia restore the refinery

In Ukraine, the project institute helped Russia restore oil refineries after drone attacks.

The Security Service exposed the management of the leading research and design institute of the oil profile in Kyiv in cooperation with the Russian Federation, the SBU reported.

In particular, the chairman of the board, two heads of special departments, as well as the chief engineer and one of the engineers of the institution were detained.

The detainees were helping Russia rebuild its refineries that were damaged by Ukrainian drone attacks.

Officials commissioned the aggressor country to prepare design and construction documentation to repair three key refineries. The total value of the contracts amounted to almost half a billion hryvnias.

This amount also included remote support by engineers of technological processes of restoration and modernization of damaged refineries in Russia.

During the searches of the offices and residences of the persons involved in Kyiv, Lviv and Kharkiv, mobile phones, system units, laptops, flash drives and draft records with evidence of cooperation with the terrorist country were seized.

The five detainees were informed of the suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assistance to the aggressor state). They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Previously, USM reported that officials of the Ukrainian holding are building a ship repair plant for Russian warships.
