The UN offers the Turkish bank to become a mediator in the “grain agreement”

The UN offered one of the Turkish banks to become an intermediary for the settlement of the “grain agreement”.

Turkey has received a proposal from the UN regarding the mediation of a Turkish bank for settlements under the Black Sea Grain Initiative. This was announced by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in an interview with NTV.

“There is no full guarantee, but it is necessary to work seriously to extend it (the agreement – ed.). On the agenda is the re-inclusion of Rosselkhozbank in the SWIFT system. Even if this bank is included in SWIFT, we see that Western companies are not very eager to work with these banks. The Secretary General (UN — ed.) offered a Turkish bank to act as an intermediary,” the minister said.

We will remind you that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently said that he does not see russia’s interest in extending the Grain Agreement. In his opinion, it is the UN and Turkey that should talk to the russian side and continue the operation of the “grain corridor”.
