The UN Secretary General commented on the Russian attack on a ship with grain
UN Secretary General António Guterres reacted to the terrorist country’s attack on a civilian ship in the Black Sea.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned the Russian attack on the bulk carrier “Aya”, which was transporting Ukrainian grain. This was reported by the spokesman of the Secretary General, Stefan Dujarric, Ukrinform writes.
“This is another example of the risk to the world economy, to world trade, which we observe in this region. This is a stark reminder that ships continue to face threats in the Black Sea, which threatens the safety and sustainability of agricultural exports,” the UN Secretary-General’s spokesman emphasized.
However, Dujarric noted that passage through the Black Sea remains critical for global food security and keeping world prices under control.
The attack on a civilian vessel was also condemned by the Federal Ministry of European and International Affairs of Austria.
“We condemn Russia’s brutal attacks on civilian objects. The unprecedented attack on a ship with grain clearly demonstrates Russia’s cynical approach to global food security, the agency commented. “The attack on the vehicles of the International Red Cross and the killing of humanitarian workers also deserve the strongest condemnation.”
It will be recalled that the invaders hit the bulk carrier on September 12, when it was passing through the Danube Delta. Fortunately, the damage was not critical. The ship continued its voyage in the direction of Constanta.
