The UN World Food Program will purchase 75,000 tons of agricultural products as part of Grain from Ukraine
The UN World Food Program (WFP) is conducting a tender for the purchase of 75,000 tons of agricultural products as part of the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program.
Grain will be sent to Ethiopia and Yemen, said WFP regional director Matthew Hollingworth, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.
Ways to implement the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program and further prospects for cooperation were discussed during the working meeting of Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solskyi with the WFP delegation on Tuesday, December 27. The parties discussed the state of implementation of the initiative in detail.
The event also discussed the interaction of partners at each stage of implementation of Grain from Ukraine. Based on the results of the meeting, the parties agreed to work out joint solutions and discuss further practical steps for their implementation in the near future.
Mykola Solsky reminded that currently three ships with 80 thousand tons of wheat have left Ukrainian ports as part of Grain from Ukraine, which are sent to Ethiopia and Somalia.
As part of the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian initiative, our state plans to send more than 60 ships to Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Congo, Kenya, Yemen, etc. by the middle of 2023.
