The United States imposed sanctions against ships transporting weapons from Iran to Russia
The United States has imposed sanctions on individuals, entities, and vessels that supply weapons to Iran and Russia.
On September 10, sanctions were imposed against 10 individuals, six companies, and five vessels, the US Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
The restrictions were imposed after Iran’s decision to supply Russia with ballistic missiles.
In particular, the vessels of the Russian MG-FLOT LLC (formerly TransMorFlot LLC): Boris Kustodiev, Port Olya-3, Port Olya-4, Kompozitor Rakhmaninov and Sapfir (until July 2022 — Etim Emin).
The listed vessels regularly ply the Caspian Sea, transporting cargo between Iran and Russia. For example, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation used the ship “Port Olya-3” to transport BRM (combat reconnaissance vehicles) from Iran.
USM previously reported that sanctions are preventing Russia from exporting LNG from Arctic LNG 2.
