The unloading of grain wagons increased in the port of Izmail

The volume of grain unloading at the port of Izmail increased to 137 wagons per day. The indicator was influenced, in particular, by weather conditions.

As of Wednesday, May 17, 2,440 wagons with grain loads are moving towards the port of Izmail. The data was provided by Valery Tkachev, director of the commercial work department of Ukrzaliznytsia, in Telegram.

Unloading in the past day in the port – 137 wagons with grain. Whereas as of May 15, the same figure was 96 wagons.

The average daily unloading for May is 84 wagons with grain.

“The situation in the port of Izmail remains difficult due to the critical accumulation of wagons. The main reason is the massive reorientation of grain wagon traffic to transportation in the direction of Izmail due to the blocking of the “grain corridor” and restrictions on the western junctions. There is also a large number of operators and low technical support of operators in the port (lack of covered warehouses; powerful unloading machinery and equipment), dependence on weather conditions,” Valery Tkachev explained.

At the same time, as of today, 948 wagons with grain cargoes are moving in the direction of the ports of Great Odesa.

According to Valery Tkachev, in fact, the aggressor country is blocking the work of the “grain corridor”. Yes, according to information from the Odesa Railway, 0 vessels were inspected last week, similarly in the inspection zone and registered for inspection. Approximately 60 vessels are awaiting inspection.

As previously reported by USM, due to interruptions in the work of the Grain Agreement, a significant decrease in the indicators of grain unloading from wagons was recorded in the ports of Greater Odesa.
