The US introduced restrictions against ships that transported gas from “Arctic LNG 2”

The United States introduced new sanctions against ships and companies that transported gas from the sanctioned Arctic LNG 2.

This was officially announced by the US State Department, Ukrinform reports.

Thus, the US State Department imposed sanctions against two companies and two vessels associated with the illegal transportation of Russian LNG from a sanctioned project.

Restrictions were implemented against Gotik Energy Shipping Co (Gotik) and Plio Energy Cargo Shipping OPC PVT LTD (Plio Energy). They, respectively, as the owner and operator manage the New Energy gas carrier. The vessel turned off the AIS system for illegal gas loading.

The United States also imposed sanctions on the “Mulan” gas carrier, which is operated by Plio Energy.

It will be recalled that a sanctioned gas carrier was exposed for transshipment of Russian LNG from ship to ship.

Earlier, USM reported that Russia used the world’s largest floating storage of LNG for shadow exports.

It is also known that the Russians have towed a platform for the production of LNG from near Murmansk, however, it is not known whether they will launch it, given the sanctions.
