The USPA told what measures are being taken against the backdrop of restrictions on the transshipment of saltpeter in ports

At the same time, the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on how long the restrictions on the transshipment and storage of saltpeter will last.

This is reported by USM with reference to USPA data.

We remind you that, according to the order, in the territory of the Odesa region it is prohibited:

• transshipment, storage, transportation and accumulation of explosive cargoes (in particular, technical ammonia, ammonium nitrate, ammonia water and other ammonia-containing substances);

• entry of vessels carrying such cargoes into the internal waters of Ukraine.

The USPA noted that they have informed the administrations of seaports and all business entities working with explosive cargoes. This applies to owners (users) of sea terminals, shipowners, their permanent representatives (marine agents), agency companies and other participants in the port infrastructure.

“The USPA is acting responsibly and systematically to comply with the established restrictions and guarantee maximum safety of port activities under martial law,” the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration noted.

In turn, the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the duration of the ban.

“The ban will be in effect until there are significant changes in the security situation, and is primarily related to ensuring the protection of other civilian vessels,” notes the Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk.

We will remind you that the USPA is implementing the necessary measures in accordance with the joint order of the Naval Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Odessa Regional Military Administration No. 113/18 dated July 18, 2025. The document was issued on the basis of the decision of the Defense Council of the Odesa region and put into effect under martial law.

Earlier, USM said that due to the Navy ban, vessels with saltpeter and ammonia are being deployed in Giurgiuleşti and Galati.
