The Verkhovna Rada voted for amendments to export duties on soybeans and rapeseed


During the session, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for two amendments to the export duty on soybeans and rapeseed.

On Wednesday, July 16, the Verkhovna Rada voted for two amendments to bill No. 13157 on a 10% export duty on rapeseed and soybeans.

Before that, the Rada blocked the rostrum due to a violation of the rules. People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak explained that the hall “rejected the “soybean amendment”, but they tried to manipulate the rules and push it through anyway.”

According to Latifundist, the first amendment provides for the introduction of an export duty on oilseed crops from the 1st of the month of the adoption of the law. The export duty provided for by the article will not be paid by farmers and agricultural cooperatives that export such products.

The second amendment concerns the creation of a fund to support commodity producers. According to the publication, this is a compromise that the agricultural committee demanded in order to support the amendments.
