Changes in logistics routes due to the full-scale invasion of russian federation led to the fact that the volume of grain transportation from Ukraine to Poland increased 27 times.

It was the strengthening of economic ties and the need to take military aspects into account that led to the expansion of the corridors of the trans-European network of roads and railways to Ukraine and Moldova. Such information was made public by the Minister of Infrastructure of Poland Andrzej Adamczyk, reports Rail.insider.

The head of the department emphasized that this decision is confirmed by specific data, which indicate a radical increase in the number of transported goods.

“Today we have to talk about changes in logistics routes,” said Infrastructure Minister Andrzej Adamczyk during the international TEN-T conference. The official emphasized that now in Europe many goods are transported to another place, compared to the situation a few years ago. As an example, he cited the transportation of grain from Ukraine to Poland, which this year reached a level 27 times higher than last year. Therefore, in his opinion, it was necessary to revise the network of trans-European corridors.

The minister added that in a situation where the EU border is also becoming the border of the front, a number of roads in Poland, as well as in other countries of the region – in Slovakia and Hungary – have become important. The construction of the Three Seas Corridor, which will make it possible to improve not only economic contacts, but also the sense of security of the residents of the eastern regions of the European Union, is also becoming very relevant.

Andrzej Adamchyk called the inclusion of the Three Seas Corridor in the TEN-T road network a significant success.

“I would like to thank the European Commission very much for accepting the proposals to expand this corridor that are emerging in different countries,” he said.
