There are more than 400 mines in the sea waters of Ukraine, — Humenyuk

Currently, there are more than 400 mines in the sea waters around Ukraine. Since the beginning of the year, more than 20 units have been destroyed.

Ukrainian sea waters contain more than 400 sea mines. Nataliya Humenyuk, the head of the joint press center of OC “Pivden”, announced this on the air of the national telethon.

“The mined sea of Ukraine, in particular, contains more than 400 sea mines, given the fact that the occupiers themselves declared this danger and indicated the number of mines that only those who directly mined the sea can know,” she said.

Humenyuk clarified that more than 20 mines have been destroyed at sea since the beginning of the year. Sometimes they explode uncontrollably, and then cause damage to the area at a distance of up to 200 m. And detonation of a mine in the water can affect all living things in a radius of a kilometer.

The spokeswoman also said that the authorities of a number of coastal cities are arranging alternative places for rest at the sea. If the places are arranged in accordance with the safety rules, they will be opened.

However, a high level of air danger remains, because the enemy often attacks the air zone of the coast. Therefore, it is important that people who will rest in the equipped places should be able to go to the shelter in case of danger, Humenyuk emphasized.
