In Russia, they offered to take tourists to Crimea on amphibious ships or through the occupied territories of Ukraine.
At a meeting with government officials, Russian President Putin discussed the queues at the entrance to the Crimean Bridge, which arose from the Krasnodar Territory due to full inspections of passenger cars, rosZMI reports.
A multi-kilometer traffic jam occurred near the bridge on July 1. On July 3, the length of the traffic jam was 13 km. The head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Vitaliy Saveliev said that the load on the Crimean bridge will increase until the weekend, and the peak load is expected on July 16-17.
At this time, “if necessary”, two large amphibious ships, each of which can transport up to 40 cars, will be used to transport cars. According to Saveliev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu is ready to provide such ships.
The minister noted that only passenger cars travel on the Crimean bridge, while tourist buses and trucks are transported to Crimea on six ferries.
The Governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratiev, at the meeting proposed to use a transport corridor to Crimea through “new regions” (meaning the occupied territories of Ukraine) in case of a “multiple” increase in queues.
