Three people died on the USPA ship due to an explosion


As a result of the explosion, three people died on the ship of the Delta-Pilot branch of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority”.

Late in the evening of July 23, an emergency occurred with a dredger belonging to the Delta-Pilot branch of the State Enterprise “USPA”. The ship was at the mouth of the Bystre River to carry out scheduled work with 11 crew members.

As a result of the explosion, three USPA employees who were on the ship died. Other crew members are currently in the hospital, they are being provided with all necessary medical care.

Relevant services are working at the scene. Details of the incident are being clarified. The USPA promised to report on the results in more detail.

The state enterprise will provide all necessary support to the families of the deceased and those who suffered as a result of the emergency.

The sea approach channel of the Bystre estuary has been temporarily closed to vessel traffic. Vessels currently pass to/from the seaports of the Danube region via the Sulina Canal.
