Trump blocks extension of license for payments for oil from Russia

US President Donald Trump has not renewed the US Treasury Department’s license for payments for Russian oil.
This is an 8L license that allowed foreign companies to pay for Russian energy resources through sanctioned Russian banks, enkorr reports.
“As far as I know, he did not do this, but I will clarify,” White House press secretary Caroline Levitt said on Fox News.
Levitt noted that the issue of further steps is currently under consideration by the US Treasury Department.
The license expired on March 12. The document allowed transactions with some Russian banks to pay for supplies of oil, gas, coal and other energy resources.
USM previously reported that the Trump administration is demanding sanctions from allies against vessels associated with China.
