Turkey imports nuclear power plant equipment from Russia
Equipment for the Turkish nuclear power plant “Akkuyu” was shipped to the seaport of St. Petersburg (Russian Federation).
Two horizontal separators-steam superheaters will be delivered to the port from the berth of JSC Atomenergomash, rosZMI reports.
The equipment is intended for the first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP under construction in Turkey.
The total weight of the equipment is 640 tons. From the port of St. Petersburg, it will be sent by ship to the berth of the Akkuyu NPP.
The Turkish nuclear power plant project includes four power units with Russian reactors. The total cost of the NPP construction is $22 billion.
According to the agreement concluded by the Russian Federation and Turkey, the first power unit should be put into operation within 7 years after receiving all permits and licenses for construction, i.e. in 2025.
