Turkey offers Ukraine and Russia to unite in the Grain Agreement
Turkey advocates the restoration of the Grains Agreement under the auspices of the United Nations. Ankara wants it to be profitable for both Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
Turkey again insists on the resumption of the Black Sea Grain Initiative. The country believes that the Agreement should be implemented jointly with Ukraine and Russia under the auspices of the UN.
“Turkey continues its initiative to renew the Grain Corridor Agreement, which expired on July 17. It turned out that Russia and Ukraine have alternative plans. But in no case do we want the Black Sea to become a conflict environment. Therefore, we believe that this process should be carried out together with Russia and Ukraine under the auspices of the UN,” said Omer Celik, spokesman for the Justice and Development Party, “Ukrinform” reports.
British Foreign Minister James Cleverley is also due to visit Turkey soon. It is expected that the heads of foreign affairs of the two countries will discuss the issue of the Grain Initiative, the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian front and the process of Sweden’s accession to NATO.
Following the results of the face-to-face meeting of the ministers and the delegations, a joint press conference will be held.
