Turkey supported russia’s blackmail over the “Grain Agreement”
Turkey agreed to continue the Black Sea Initiative on russia’s terms. In particular, the country is advocating the lifting of sanctions on russian companies related to the export of grain.
Turkey advocates the lifting of sanctions against russian federation, which allegedly prevent the import of Russian grain. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
According to Çavuşoğlu, in order to overcome the global food crisis, it is necessary to ensure the export of both Ukrainian and russian grain.
Before that, the European Commission decided that EU national governments could unfreeze some assets of the russians, if necessary for the supply of fertilizers. Such exceptions must be notified to the European Commission.
The agreement stipulates that the exemptions apply only to individuals or legal entities associated with russian agribusiness that worked in this industry before the sanctions were imposed.
USM recently wrote that russia is again threatening to derail the Black Sea Initiative . Also, the terrorist country probably plans to further reduce the number of inspections of ships in the Bosphorus.
