Turkish floating power plants in Ukraine: negotiations continue
Ukraine is discussing with Turkey the use of floating power plants to supply electricity to Ukrainian cities.
On February 15, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Yagmur Ahmet Guldere.
They discussed, in particular, the use of Turkish floating power plants to supply electricity to Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy reported.
“Floating power plants are an opportunity to provide generation for a certain region, it is one of the elements of decentralization of the energy system. This is especially important in the conditions when Russia continues to attack our energy facilities every day,” the Ukrainian minister said.
The Ukrainian and Turkish sides agreed to continue negotiations on this issue, paying special attention to the safety of floating power plants and their locations.
