Two blocked vessels left the port Pivdennyi with a cargo of iron and ore

Two ships, which had been blocked there since the beginning of the full-scale war, left the Southern port.

On September 1, the bulk carriers Anna-Theresa (Filia Glory) under the flag of Liberia and Ocean Courtesy under the flag of the Marshall Islands left the ort Pivdennyi, the Ministry of Reconstruction reported.

Ships move along the established corridor in the direction of the Bosphorus. There are 56,000 tons of pig iron and 172,000 tons of iron ore concentrate on board.

Both bulk carriers are operated by a Singapore shipping company and were in ort Pivdennyi prior to the full-scale invasion. Bulk carrier Anna-Theresa has been in port since February 22, 2022, and Ocean Courtesy since February 16, 2022.

The corridor, established by the navigation instructions of the Ukrainian Navy, is primarily used for the evacuation of ships that were in the Ukrainian ports of Chornomorsk, Odesa, and Pivdenne at the time of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Since August 15, 4 ships have already used the temporary corridor.

The first to pass this way were the container ship Joseph Schulte (August 16) and the bulk carrier Primus (August 27).
