Two large shipping lines CStar Line and STF Shipping have stopped operating in Russia

CStar Line, registered in the UAE, and the Chinese STF Shipping have ceased operations in Russian ports.
In 2023-2024, these companies were among the leaders in sea container transportation to Russian ports, writes Business Censor.
The main client of the sea lines was the Delo group of companies, the owner of the largest container operator in Russia, Transcontainer, and the container terminal Eastern Stevedoring Company in the port of Vostochny in Primorye.
There are also other connections of carriers with the Delo group, the largest assets of which in 2023 were transferred to the management of Rosatom expatriates.
Thus, the Russian agent of CStar Line and STF Shipping – the company Login NMP – in mid-October 2025 stopped accepting applications for sending cargo even for flights that were on the schedule. At the same time, the agent speaks of a temporary suspension of activities and recommends using the services of other companies.
The reason for the suspension of the lines, according to market participants, was the financial problems of carriers, who were unable to cope with accounts payable due to a decrease in imports through Far Eastern ports at the end of 2024 and 2025, and difficulties in settlements with the main client.
It is known that CStar Line was founded in the UAE in 2022 after large international shipping lines suspended operations in Russia. The new company, which had 20 container ships for about 25 thousand TEU, became one of the leaders of the Russian market in terms of container shipping. It accounted for 20% to 25% of transportation, the monthly volume of which was about 150 thousand TEU.
In August 2024, CStar Line stopped flights from China and South Korea to the port of Vostochny and transferred its services to the Chinese STF Shipping.
