Two ships from Ukraine are being unloaded at the port of Syria

Two ships with Ukrainian wheat on board arrived at the Syrian port of Tartus. The country also continues to buy grain from Russia.

On Sunday, November 9, three ships with grain arrived at the port of Tartus – two from Ukraine, one from Russia, writes the Syrian publication Sana.

In total, the bulk carriers delivered more than 70 thousand tons of wheat to the country.

The head of the Tartus port operations department, Yousef Arnous, noted that part of the grain will be stored in port silos, and the other part will be exported directly by trucks and rail to provide the country with food.

“A fourth ship with a cargo of 26 thousand tons of wheat is waiting to be unloaded at the port. Ships with 50 thousand tons of grain will also arrive at the port in the near future,” said Yousef Arnous.

As previously reported by USM, Syria also continues to receive stolen Ukrainian grain from Russia. Thus, in October, the bulk carrier Matros Koshka, which loaded 27,500 tons of grain in occupied Sevastopol, turned off its AIS and arrived at the port of Latakia for unloading.
