Two vessels were spotted near Nord Stream-2 a few days before the explosions

A few days before the explosions, satellites detected two vessels near the Nord Stream-2 pipeline.

Two large vessels passed near the gas leaks on the North Stream – 2 shortly before the explosions. AIS was disabled on the vessel.

The ships were discovered by SpaceKnow, a company that monitors satellite data.

Each vessel was 95 to 130 meters long. They walked a few miles from the crash site.

“They had their signals turned off, meaning there was no information about their movements, and they were trying to hide their location and general information from the world,” said SpaceKnow CEO and co-founder Jerry Jawornicki.

To detect the vessels, the company studied archival satellite images of the area from the past 90 days.

Jawornicki emphasized that there were 25 vessels near the Arctic Streams, and only two of them turned off their transponders.

Disabling AIS on ships is a violation of international law, as vessels may be involved in, for example, illegal fishing or human trafficking.

SpaceKnow identified the vessels and reported its findings to NATO officials investigating the Nord Stream incidents.

It will be recalled that at the end of September, as a result of explosions, a leak began in four sections of the pipelines of “Nord Streams”. An investigation is currently underway.
