After preparatory work, the ship was docked for overhaul.

PJSC “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” has started the recovery of the dry cargo “Izmail”. This was  reported in the press service of the state-owned enterprise.

The UDS noted that earlier the fleet was on a bareboat charter. Due to the lack of necessary maintenance on the part of the lessee, there was a risk of losing the fleet. In particular, “Izmail” was found last fall in Bulgaria in a terrible technical condition.

Two months ago, the UDS team conducted a preliminary technical audit and repaired some of the equipment. Now the ship has been lifted into the dock.

Reference: dry cargo ships of the Izmail type – Izmail, Vylkovo, Reni, Tatarbunary, Kilia and Viana do Castelo – were built in the early 1990s by order of UDS at the Portuguese shipyard Viana do Castelo.

Vessels have a small draft (6 meters) for river-sea transportation. The length of the dry cargo is 88.15 meters, the deadweight reaches 3700 tons, the power is 2700 hp.

As USM wrote, the UDS recently launched another SLG-class barge.
