UDS begins cooperation with the Orlivka-Isakcha ferry complex

PJSC “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” began cooperation with the Orlivka-Isakcha ferry complex. This will allow UDS to increase transportation.

“Last year, Orlivka-Isakcha also turned into a cargo terminal, a river and sea hub, a new loading and unloading point for ships and barges.

The ferry crossing has been working as a port for several months,” the UDS reminded.

The company noted that Orlivka is interesting to UDS due to the fact that it has an additional flow of cargo, and “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” is looking for “new opportunities to increase transportation.” In addition, unlike many terminals in Reni and Izmail, transshipment at the ferry complex is not yet overloaded. In addition, the UDS notes, Orlivka primarily serves the annual fleet.

Also, cooperation will give both companies the opportunity to decongest checkpoints.

“Last year, a freight complex was organized in Orlivka, which is already working successfully. The complex was put into operation in the second half of September 2022. Since that time, more than 50,000 tons have been transferred – both from river and sea vessels, thanks to the fact that the sediment here is greater than in the Reni,” the UDS noted.
