UDS completed the final part of the repair of the tug “Sofia”
“Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company” has completed the main part of major dock repair of tugboat “Sofia”. Currently, the vessel has been launched for final works.
The work lasted about four months. The largest part of them is the replacement of metal (about eleven tons) in fuel bunkers, fecal tanks, internal bulkheads, external cladding, the UDS notes.
Specialists also restored the propeller complex, cleaned and painted the underwater part and the main deck of the vessel, and also carried out mechanical work on the repair of the main engines.
“Even before the tug was put up for repair, it was fully equipped with spare parts and material supplies. According to the new rules, upon arrival from the voyage, and often during the voyage, the ship’s mechanic together with the superintendent of the technical service draw up a preliminary repair report,” the company noted.
