UDS spoke about key tasks in conditions of low freight rates

“Ukrainian Danube Shipping” is forced to work in conditions of low freight rates and limited volume of cargo.

Low freight rates and a limited cargo base are realities in which UDS will operate for a long time. This was stated by the CEO of “UDS” Dmytro Moskalenko.

Despite this, the state-owned enterprise has key tasks that the company must fulfill under current market conditions.

The main goal of the company is to break even by the end of this year by optimizing costs. The UDS also intends to find additional sources of funding for the capital investment program.

Moskalenko noted that the planned funding from international donors was put on hold by the absence of a supervisory board. So now the UDS needs compensators.

The general director of UDS emphasized that both tasks are quite realistic.

“The company is able to work stably and develop even at the current level of rates and volume of cargo. Provided that the necessary decisions will be made in time,” Moskalenko concluded.
