UDS vessels, released from arrest in Serbia, are preparing for their first voyage
Two liberated UDS vessels are preparing for the first voyage. They were arrested in Serbia last year at the request of a subsidiary of Russian Gazprom.
UDS vessels “Mechanik Holovatskyi” and “Bratislava” were arrested last year in June at the request of the Serbian “daughter” of the Russian “Gazprom”. The aggressor country tried to completely block the work of the UDS on the Middle Danube, the company said .
For almost a year, lawyers fought for the release of the vessels. In August of this year, the ships returned to Izmail.

There was a risk that the vessels would be disassembled for spare parts during long-term parking. But the crews did not leave the ship to prevent theft. At first, the full crew remained on the ships. Later, shortened groups alternated. From time to time, rotations were carried out on the vessel and the tug.
Thanks to the teams, the ships returned home in satisfactory technical condition. On the “Holovatsky”, for example, the crew was engaged in painting, minor repairs, keeping the ship on the move.
Currently, the vessels are undergoing inter-flight maintenance at the BTOF. They are planning to complete the work on the Mechanik Holovatskyi motor ship soon – this is the revision of the drinking tanks, the remote automated control system, and the mechanisms. Similar works await the tugboat “Bratislava”.
