UDS will attract investments from the International Finance Corporation

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) will help “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” in the modernization and expansion of the fleet.

The parties signed the agreement on Wednesday, June 21, in London as part of the international conference on the restoration of Ukraine URC 23, the UDS press service reports .

As IFC Vice President for Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean Alfonso García Mora said, Ukraine will need unprecedented amounts of capital to rebuild its infrastructure and rebuild its economy, and the private sector will be key to meeting those needs.

“IFC supports the Ukrainian government in mobilizing such private investments, including through such projects as the project with the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company to modernize its fleet and increase the sustainability of the transport sector and export potential of Ukraine,” said Mora.

Dmytro Moskalenko, general director of UDS, for his part, noted that the company demonstrates consistently successful results, expands its areas of activity, and has a clear development strategy.

“This week, the UDS paid record dividends to the state budget for 2022 – more than UAH 146.4 million. This is more than the dividends paid in the entire history of the company. We set a very high pace, but the further development of the company requires attracting large-scale investments and strategic cooperation with international partners,” said Dmytro Moskalenko.

The head of the UDS emphasized that cooperation with the IFC is not only about attracting investments in the launched fleet modernization and expansion program. UDS aims to comply with IFC’s high standards of corporate policy, compliance, and financial transparency.
