UDS will name the tug in honor of an employee who died at the front line

PJSC “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” will name its pusher tug in honor of Valery Kydyk, an employee who recently died at the front.

Valery Kydyk was the first assistant mechanic for the electrical equipment of the UDP tug “Zagorsk” (“Chuguyev”). He worked in the company since 2009.

Kydyk started as a fitter-ship repairer at the fleet’s maintenance base. He gained practical experience, and at the same time he graduated from the Bilhorod-Dniester Marine Fisheries Technical College, majoring in mechanics. In 2012, he joined the transport fleet as an electromechanic, and since then he has been working on the tug “Zagorsk”.

In 2021, Valery Kydyk received a diploma in ship mechanics at the Danube Institute of NU “OMA”.

In November, Valery was supposed to go on a flight, but he received a summons and went to serve. He underwent training for three months. A week ago it became known that he was being sent to the front, and later the news came about the death of a soldier.

“They decided to name the steamship on which Valery worked in his honor. I am sure that the UDS team will support this decision,” commented the general director of the UDS Dmytro Moskalenko.
