UGA calls on NABU and Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office to stop prosecuting the deputy minister of agrarian policy
“Ukrainian Grain Association” appealed to NABU and UGA calls on NABU and Specialized Anti-corruptionProsecutor’s Office to stop prosecuting the deputy minister of Agrarian Policy and called on them to stop unjustifiably persecuting Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy Taras Vysotskyi.
We will remind you that Taras Vysotskyi is suspected of abuse during the procurement of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” food products, which allegedly caused losses to the state of UAH 62.5 million. According to the investigation, Vysotsky paid for imported pasta products for regional military administrations at allegedly inflated prices.
However, UGA considers the accusations to be groundless, and Vysotskyi’s decision to be made in the interests of the state and society.
“Thanks to the professional actions of Taras Vysotskyi, it was possible to avoid food supply interruptions and ensure food security in regions that needed immediate assistance in the conditions of the first months of a full-scale invasion,” the Association noted.
UGA also says that the investigation incorrectly calculated the funds spent on the purchase of products. In addition, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is not a party to the Purchase Agreement and, accordingly, is not the administrator of funds for the purchase of goods.
“All enterprises for procurement were submitted in documents for inclusion by the relevant Regional Military Administration (who in their territories had information about the integrity and real capabilities of these enterprises). The Ministry and Taras Vysotsky did not participate in the selection of enterprises. Taras Vysotskyi does not have a selfish motive for committing abuses in the interests of the specified LLC, accordingly, no material or evidence records the receipt of any unlawful benefit,” says the UGA.
