UGA came to the defense of Minister of Agricultural Policy Solskyi
The Ukrainian Grain Association came to the defense of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solskyi.
The association called for a relaxation of preventive protection, because the minister “does not pose a threat to the lives of citizens, society or the state,” the UGA statement said.
“The Ukrainian Grain Association is extremely surprised by the decision to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solskyi, and considers such a measure excessive. After all, the charges brought forward do not relate to his work as the minister of agrarian policy and food, but to a case that took place many years ago, when he was neither a minister nor a people’s deputy,” the association noted.
UGA considers it necessary to emphasize that during his work as Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Solskyi “selflessly cared and worried about the protection, sustainability and development of the agricultural sector of Ukraine and the defense of its interests, including at the international level.”
Despite being in custody, Solskyi remains a minister and will be able to return to his duties after his release. This was stated by the minister’s defense after the court session, “Economic Truth” reports.
