Representatives of the two countries discussed Ukraine’s priorities in the development of logistics infrastructure, in particular, ports.

This became known from the meeting of the Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Andriy Bratus with the Ambassador of Austria to Ukraine Martin Robert Müller.

The main topic of the meeting was mutual support of Ukraine and Austria during the elections to the governing bodies of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). The elections are planned to be held within the framework of the 28th UPU Congress, which will be held from September 8 to 19, 2025 in Dubai (UAE).

The parties also discussed Ukraine’s priorities in the development of logistics infrastructure, in particular:

• transformation of the border railway network in accordance with EU standards;

• updating the port infrastructure, which is subject to constant attacks by the Russian Federation;

• modernization of international road checkpoints;

• integration of the Ukrainian transport system into the trans-European TEN-T network.

“The Austrian government has an ambitious program, and one of its priorities is comprehensive support for Ukraine. In particular, in transport and logistics integration, infrastructure development, including ports and roads,” emphasized Martin Müller.

A new visit of Austrian ministers to Ukraine is also expected in the near future, including a visit to one of the ports.
