Ukraine and Egypt agree on steps to expand agricultural trade

Ukraine and Egypt have agreed on a number of practical measures to boost trade in key agricultural products, including grain and oil.

This was reported by Elevatorist with reference to the Embassy of Ukraine in Egypt.

On July 30, Ukrainian Ambassador Mykola Nagornyy held a meeting with representatives of the Egyptian agency Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development. The parties discussed the current state of economic cooperation and identified further steps to increase exports of Ukrainian agricultural products.

The message emphasizes that Ukraine remains an important factor in global food security and is ready to ensure stable supplies of quality products to Egypt – both through private companies and with the participation of state structures.

“The agreed measures are aimed not only at expanding trade volumes, but also at ensuring the efficiency, timeliness and transparency of logistics processes,” the embassy said in a statement.

Egypt retains the status of Ukraine’s largest trading partner in the Middle East and North Africa region. In the first half of 2025, Ukraine exported 1.31 million tons of wheat, 1.06 million tons of corn and 360 thousand tons of soybeans there. The total volume of bilateral trade during this period amounted to $947.9 million.Earlier, USM reported that agricultural associations called on Zelenskyy to veto the law on export duties on soybeans and rapeseed.
