Ukraine and France will strengthen cooperation in the field of transport
Ukraine and France signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of transport.
The Minister of Reconstruction of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, held talks with the Minister of Transport of France, Clément Beaune, and the Special Envoy of the President of France for Aid and Reconstruction of Ukraine, Pierre Elbron.
According to the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, the Memorandum envisages cooperation on damage assessment and restoration of Ukrainian transport systems, with an emphasis on the transition to ecological low-carbon mobility.
Cooperation will cover the areas of railway and maritime transport, public urban transport, multimodal transport and logistics, as well as the development of environmentally friendly mobility.
“Stable transportation and mobility is what we have been working on with our French partners since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. In the near future, there are plans to strengthen cooperation in providing Ukraine with bridges and supporting Ukrzaliznytsia. There are already agreements on the supply of rails and the renewal of the locomotive park,” Kubrakov noted.
France will also provide expert support and promote the participation of French companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine. A joint Monitoring Committee will be established to implement joint projects initiated within the framework of this Memorandum.
